FHSU Women Ranked No. 10 in Latest WBCA Division II Poll

Fort Hays State Women’s Basketball checks in at No. 10 in the nation in the latest WBCA Division II Poll, released on Tuesday (Feb. 16). The Tigers slipped five spots from the No. 5 ranking last week but continue their streak of being in the top 10 of every poll released this season.

The Tigers slip to No. 10, the position where they started the year in the preseason poll, after a loss to then No. 23 Pittsburg State last week in Pittsburg. The Gorillas solidified themselves in the poll with that win and now sit at No. 19 in the nation riding a 10-game win streak. Missouri Western moved back in front of FHSU in the poll, now at No. 7. The Griffons currently lead the MIAA standings by a game and a half over Fort Hays State. Emporia State remains in the top 25 at No. 22 this week.

The Central Region remains impressive with six teams in the top 25 and one atop the receiving votes list. Winona State (Minn.) is No. 8 this week while Arkansas Tech is No. 14. Sioux Falls is the first team outside the top 25, receiving 40 votes.

Fort Hays State plays two games at home this week against Lindenwood (Thursday) and Lincoln (Saturday). The first set of NCAA Regional Rankings will be released on Wednesday (Feb. 17). Check and see tomorrow where the Tigers rank in the push for the NCAA Tournament.
