Hypnosis: Chris Jones

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. hypnotist Chris Jones is coming to Fort Hays State University to perform hypnosis tricks at the Beach Schmidt Auditorium, courtesy of the FHSU University Activities Board.

In addition the show will also allow students to be interactive during the course of the show by having student come up to the stage and take part of Jones shows.

A Chicago native, Jones turned a unique skill into becoming an entertaining performer on the college market. Jones was also a nationally ranked athlete; he also studied Sociology and Psychology where he claimed to be a social engineer with deviant motives. Jones has been a Resident Assistant for three years and has been using magic to connect with students.

Tiger Media Network has reached out to the FHSU University Activities Board for comment about the event and they were happy enough to answer questions in regards to the event.

“I think Chris Jones is really high energy and that all of us on exec board who saw him at knacker regionals are really excited to see who gets hypnotize,” said Jessi Haulman, member of the UAB. “We also interested to see some interested things that he can with people,” Haulman said.

In terms of crazy things Jones performs, Haulman mentioned a fellow class mate that was called up to the stage and was then hypnotized to look like a Playboy bunny in front of the audience and to take on different positions while still posing as the bunny.

When asked if they are expecting the seats at Beach Schmitt to be complete Jones says that she is hopeful the seats will be filled. “I hope we get a good attendance.”

In terms of having more events similar to the Chris Jones, Haulman stated that these events occur once a year and that there are other events such as a comedy event performed by a comedian next Monday.

The event is free for FHSU students who have provided a FHSU Tiger ID Card when attending the event while non-students will be asked to pay a fee in order to attend the event.
