The Fort Hays State basketball team picked up their fifth straight win tonight with a 98-74 victory over the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State.
After building up a 16 point lead in the first half, the Aggies cut the lead down to eight with around five minutes left in the first half. Fort Hays State built their lead back up to 16 before going into the locker room. After halftime, the Tiger offense struggled once again, allowing Panhandle State to cut the lead down to eight just after the halfway point in the second half. After that, the Tiger offense would surge and they would lead by double digit for the remaining part of the contest.
Carson Kondrade led all scorers on the night with a career high of 26 points. 15 of his points were from beyond the arc. Dwayne Brunson finished the game with 24 points and 13. The effort was good enough for his fourth straight double double. Craig Nicholson also had 11 points, 8 assists and five steals accounting for his fifth straight game in double figures.
The Tigers will travel to Kansas City to take part in the CBE Classic at Sprint Center against Rockhurst. Gametime is set for 2pm. Admission is free.
