Fort Hays State will have two members of its men’s track and field team compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships this weekend (Mar. 9-11) in Birmingham, Ala. Brett Meyer will represent the Tigers in the 800 meters, while Dillando Allotey will compete in the 200 meters. Unfortunately, due to illness, Decano Cronin was unable to make the trip to Alabama after qualifying in the 800 meters as well.

Thursday (Mar. 9) at 5:50 pm, Meyer will run in the prelims of the 800 meters. Meyer enters the national site with the third-fastest time in the nation this year. His time of 1:50.44 ran at the Concordia University Invitational was converted to 1:48.89 due to track size, sealing a trip to Alabama. If Meyer qualifies for the finals, that race will be ran on Saturday at 4:10 pm.

Allotey will compete in the prelims of the 200-meter dash on Friday (Mar. 10) at 5:30 pm, entering eighth on the national performance list with a time of 21.32 seconds. He posted that mark at the MIAA Championships with a time of 21.70 seconds that was converted down to 21.32 due to track size. He won the MIAA Championship in the 200 meters.

Though he will not be competing, Cronin qualified for nationals in the 800 meters. The Ireland native set the school record and was second on the national performance list with a time of 1:50.27. The time was converted to 1:48.72 due to track size.
