The Season of Giving – The FHSU Angel Tree

BY: Kraig Pierce

It is common knowledge that there are many charities around the world that dedicate their time, energy and even money towards helping less privileged children find the same kind of magical experience as others. One of these charities, Team Up For Tots, is working in collaboration with FHSU Tiger Pride Alumni and Friends Chapter (formerly known as FASTigers) to ensure that this sort of kindness is extended to the Hays area.

The collaboration between these two groups has lead to a project known as The Angel Tree. In the Memorial Union stands a tree on which a multitude of paper angels hang. These angels each represent a child in the Hays area that needs our help in order to have a magical Christmas experience. It is not only toys that these children are asking for, as some may automatically assume. Many of the requests are for clothing and educational supplies. It is because of these genuine requests that many are participating in the gift giving event.

The Angel Tree Project will be going on until December 14th. If you are interested in participating, all you have to do is find your angel, purchase a present for them, and drop the gift off at one of the drop-off point locations.  The Center for Student Involvement is the on-campus drop-off point, it is that simple!
