Tigers Post Second Straight Shutout; Defeat Midland For Fourth Straight Win

FREMONT, Neb. – Fort Hays State picked up its second straight shutout and fourth straight win by downing Midland University (Neb.) 9-0 on Saturday (Sept. 24). The Tigers moved to 4-2 overall with the win.
The Tigers breezed through doubles play. The No. 1 team of Lauren Lindell and Natalie Lubbers won 8-3, while the No. 2 team of Nicole Lubbers and Jessica Johnson took their match 8-1. Laura Jimenez-Lendinez teamed with Taylor Noel to win at No. 3 by a score of 8-2.

The Tigers took all singles matches in straight sets. Nicole Lubbers blanked her opponent at No. 5, while sister Natalie Lubbers allowed only two points in a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Jimenez-Lendinez took the No. 1 match by scores of 6-2, 6-4, while Lindell won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Johnson picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 and Noel won 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 6 position.
