Tiger Softball Lands Eight on MIAA Academic Honor Roll; Three Named Scholar-Athletes

FHSU SPORTS INFORMATION DEPARTMENT

Fort Hays State had eight softball student-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for 2016. Three of the eight earned the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award.

To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. Newcomers are honored in the summer after they have completed the two-term requirement.

The eight players named to the honor roll included Tori Beltz, Courtney Dobson, Paxton Duran, Erin Elmore, Veronica Knittig, Rilee Krier, Kylie Strand, and Samantha Villarreal.

Dobson, Duran, and Krier each earned the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award, given to those who earn All-MIAA honors have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
