Fort Hays State hosts Nebraska-Kearney on Wednesday (Apr. 27) at 6 pm to finish the three-game season series. The Tigers enter with an overall record of 18-25 and an MIAA record of 12-20. The Lopers, who won the two prior matchups, carry an overall record of 18-23 and a conference record of 15-17.

Fort Hays State is coming off of a big come-from-behind win to avoid a sweep at Missouri Southern on Sunday (Apr. 24) and looks to maintain the momentum heading into the final two weeks of MIAA play. Nick Hammeke has been a key performer for the Tiger offense as of late, reaching base in 26 consecutive games. In addition to Hammeke’s ongoing success, Austin Unrein leads the team in hits (66), and home runs (9), including an eighth-inning grand slam that led to the Tiger win on Sunday.

Kyle Honeycutt and Shane Sharkey are the leaders offensively for UNK. The two sit tied for the team lead with 17 multi-hit games. Dallas Schramm adds the pop to the Loper lineup as he leads the team in home runs (10) and RBI (40).
