Tiger Tennis Falls 9-0 at Washburn

TOPEKA, Kan. – Fort Hays State fell in conference action at Washburn by a score of 9-0 on Saturday (Apr. 9). The Tigers moved to 7-10 overall and 1-6 in the conference with the loss.

Fort Hays State scored only four points in doubles play with the No. 1 team of Laura Jimenez-Lendinez and Jessica Johnson scoring two of those four points.

Jimenez-Lendinez nearly scored a team point for the Tigers at No. 1 singles as her match went to three sets. She dropped a tiebreak in the first set, but bounced back for a 7-5 win. Laura Shkembi of Washburn won a competitive third set 10-8. All other singles matches ended in straight sets.

The Tigers host Lindenwood in conference play on Friday (Apr. 15) at 3 pm in Hays.
