Emporia State Shuts Out FHSU Tennis

EMPORIA, Kan. – Fort Hays State Tennis fell by a score of 9-0 at Emporia State on Friday (Apr. 8) in MIAA play. The Tigers moved to 7-9 overall and 1-5 in the MIAA.

Fort Hays State generated only three points in doubles action. The No. 1 team of Laura Jimenez-Lendinez and Jessica Johnson fell 8-2, while the No. 3 team of Haley Weidemann and Taylor Noel lost 8-1.

Emporia State won all six singles matches in straight sets. Jimenez-Lendinez had the most competitive match, falling 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to Tawni Griffey at the No. 1 position.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday at Washburn in a 10 am match.
