No. 12 Tigers Face No. 16 Gorillas in MIAA Tournament Semifinals

Fort Hays State will be in search of its second straight trip to the tournament championship game when it faces Pittsburg State in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Saturday (Mar. 5) at 12 pm. Both teams enter the game at 25-4 overall with the Tigers ranked No. 12 in the nation and the Gorillas at No. 16.

Fort Hays State defeated Missouri Southern 79-65 in the MIAA Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday, while Pittsburg State got a win over Central Missouri by a score of 78-68. FHSU and PSU meet for the third time this year with FHSU winning in Hays and PSU winning in Pittsburg. The Tigers are in search of their second-straight MIAA Tournament Final. They met Emporia State in the championship game last year.

The winner on Saturday will move on to face either No. 7 ranked Missouri Western or No. 20 ranked Emporia State in the finals.

The semifinals on Saturday could have a big impact on regional rankings as all four teams are among the top five in the region.
