Tigers Look for 5-0 Start in Meeting with Sterling on Tonight

Fort Hays State Men’s Basketball, receiving votes in the latest NABC Division II Poll, looks for a 5-0 start to the season when it hosts Sterling College tonight. Tipoff is set for 7 pm at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.

Fort Hays State is coming off a good win over Newman University on Tuesday night. Newman is also receiving votes in the national poll. The Tigers took the battle of unbeaten teams by a score of 92-76.

The meeting with Sterling on Saturday will be the final game before entering MIAA play on Wednesday next week. The Tigers still have four more games in a row at home following Saturday.

Dom Samac leads the scoring attack for FHSU at 18.0 points per game. Rob Davis (13.3 points per game) and Kenny Enoch (10.3 points per game) are combining to shoot 50 percent beyond the 3-point line. Craig Nicholson is averaging 4.5 assists per game. The Tigers as a team lead the MIAA in 3-point field goal percentage (.431) and rank second in overall shooting percentage (.509).

Sterling enters the game at 2-5 overall, coming off a win over Bethel College.
