FHSU Sports Information Department

Enjoy FREE ADMISSION to Fort Hays State Soccer on Sunday, October 4, when the women and men host last year’s conference champions in a doubleheader. Central Missouri currently sports a record of 8-0 heading into two conference matches this weekend. The Jennies play at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday afternoon before heading to Hays for Sunday’s match. Central Missouri has ascended to the top of the national rankings averaging 4.25 goals per match, while allowing just 0.25 per match. Fort Hays State enters the week at 4-4 and plays Lindenwood on Friday evening before taking on the Jennies Sunday.

The perennial rivalry between Fort Hays State and Northeastern State in men’s soccer continues as the teams meet for the first time this season. Northeastern State earned the MIAA Regular Season Championship last year, but FHSU eliminated NSU from the NCAA Tournament last year on a thrilling penalty kick shootout in Tahlequah, Okla. That sent the Tigers to the National Quarterfinal match. The 22nd-ranked Tiger men take on Southwest Baptist in their first conference match of the year on Friday night before tangling with the RiverHawks on Sunday.

Also be on hand for the first two games of the week for both the women and men on Friday evening. The women host Lindenwood at 5 pm, while the men host Southwest Baptist at 7:30 pm. There will be the usual admisson fee of $5 for adults and $3 for grades K-12 for Friday’s matches.
