Fort Hays State Volleyball will host its annual Black and Gold Scrimmage on Wednesday night (Aug. 19) at 7 pm inside Gross Memorial Coliseum. Come see your 2015 Tiger Volleyball team play an intrasquad scrimmage as they continue to prepare for the upcoming regular season.
Kurt Kohler is in his seventh season as head coach of the program. The team finished three spots higher in the MIAA standings last year than it did in 2013, so the Tigers look to climb their way to the upper half of the conference in 2015. Returners to the 2015 roster include Mallory Flagor (All-MIAA Second Team in 2014), Rebekah Spainhour, Callie Christensen, and Crystal Whitten. The Tigers have 12 newcomers to the team this year.
FHSU will have one more tune-up after the scrimmage on Wednesday before the regular season begins. The Tigers host Bethel College at Gross Memorial Coliseum in an exhibition doubleheader starting at 4 pm on Wednesday, August 26. The Tigers open the 2015 regular season in Marquette, Mich., at the Northern Michigan Tournament, Sept. 4-5.
The Black and Gold Scrimmage is planned to last three sets on Wednesday night.
