A new Indoor Training Facility on the campus of Fort Hays State University is nearing completion. Other than a few small details, the Schmidt-Bickle Indoor Training Facility is complete. The 50,000 sq. ft facility houses a 65 yard multi-sport practice field, indoor batting cages, 5 seventy yard track lanes, long jump, high jump and pole-vault pits, as well as a state of the art weight room.

Many student athletes will benefit from the new facility for training and practice, especially outdoor sports effected by inclimate weather during the winter months.

Crews also installed new turf inside Lewis Field. The new playing surface, which will be similar to the one inside Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, should be ready to go for the start of the FHSU training camp this month. In the below video, football coach Chris Brown talks about this and more on the day of the first Fall 2013 practice.
