Tigers check in at No. 6 in latest WBCA Division II Poll

Fort Hays State University was tabbed as the No. 6 ranked team in the latest WBCA Division II Poll, released on Tuesday. The Tigers enter the NCAA Tournament at 28-3 overall and host the Central Regional on their home floor this weekend as the region’s No. 1 seed.FHSU joins three other teams in this week’s rankings that are participating in the Central Regional this weekend. Emporia State moved up one spot from the previous week to No. 9, while Pittsburg State slid three spots to No. 16. Wayne State (Neb.) is tied in the No. 19 slot. The four remaining teams competing in the regional (Harding, Northern State, Arkansas Tech, and Minnesota State-Mankato) all are receiving votes in the latest poll.

FHSU spends its seventh-consecutive week in the Top 10 of the WBCA Rankings and eighth-consecutive week in the poll this year. The Tigers were No. 4 in the nation in the past two polls and ranked as high as No. 2 nationally at one point.

FHSU is also ranked in among the top two in two other services: No. 1 in Massey Ratings and No. 2 in BennettRank. The Central Regional features five of the top 20 teams in the BennettRank system, including three top 10 programs.
