2014 Kansas Economic Outlook Conference to conclude on the FHSU Campus

After conferences in Wichita, Pittsburg, Emporia, Salina and Dodge City the 2014 Statewide Kansas Economic Outlook Conference will conduct its final meeting at the FHSU Robbins Welcome Center at 8:30 a.m.Friday. The conference is scheduled to run until 11 a.m.

The conference will provide insights into current state and local economies, analyze key industries in the area, and forecast the economic year ahead. The information provided at the conference is designed to help local businesses design strategies to avoid pitfalls for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as for the remainder of the current year.

Speakers representing Wichita State University, MIT International Center of Air Transportation, the National Retail Federation and Kansas Housing Resource Corporation will speak throughout the conference. Charlie Wolfe, instructor of business and entrepreneurship at FHSU, will give the opening remarks for the conference and will serve as moderator. Another local speaker will be Mike Briney, Western Kansas Regional President of Sunflower Bank.

The conference is being hosted by the Center for Economic Development and Business Research in the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University.
