FHSU hosts 2014 mid-term election candidate forum

This Thursday the Student Government Association will be moving their weekly meeting that usually starts at 7 p.m. in the Black and Gold room in the upper level in the Memorial Union to 5 p.m.

The meeting is being rescheduled for the 2014 Mid-term Election Candidate Forum at the Robbins Center that will take place during their regular meeting time.

The Student Government Association will be hosting a candidate forum on October 30, 2014 at the Robbins Center. The forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. The candidates Sue Boldra, James Leiker, Pat Roberts, Greg Orman, Tim Huelskamp and Jim Sherow have been invited to attend the candidate forum. The following candidates have confirmed their attendance for Thursday: Sue Boldra, James Leiker, Jim Sherow and a representative of Greg Orman’s campaign.


The forum will begin with Kansas House District 111 candidates Sue Boldra and James Leiker. Both candidates will give their platform. Following the candidate’s intent to run, moderator Dr. Joe Romance, will be opening the floor for questions from the public.


The forum will proceed with Jim Sherow sharing his intent to run for 1st US Congressional District. As of Monday afternoon Tim Huelskamp also running for 1st US Congressional District has declined the invitation to speak at the candidate forum.


Greg Orman, for US Senate, has confirmed the attendance of a representative from his campaign. This individual will be the last speaker at the candidate forum. Due to the pending confirmation of Pat Roberts or a representative of his campaign Dr. Joe Romance will open the floor for questions for the candidate.


The Student Government Association and sponsor Hays Area Chamber of Commerce invites the Hays Community and any Kansas voters to attend the event free of charge.
