Fort Hays ranked best in state for online education

Fort Hays State University was ranked the best college in Kansas for online education by TheBestSchools.org in a recent article.

The article, “The Best Online College in Each of America’s Fifty States.”, weighted universities on several factors, from academic excellence, course and degree offerings, faculty, and reputation.

“We are always gratified when an independent organization recognizes our educational excellence,” said Dr. Mirta M. Martin, FHSU president. “It is important to emphasize that this honor also reflects on the excellence of our on-campus offerings, because our core faculty develop the courses they teach both in the traditional classroom and online.”

FHSU is the lowest 1 percent nationally for online tuition, and has also been recognized by GI Jobs Magazine as a military-friendly school, according to Dennis King, director of the Virtual College.  FHSU is also recognized on Militaryfriendlyschools.com’s 2014 list of military-friendly schools.

Recognition for FHSU programs has appeared on a myriad of other college ranking sites this year, including U.S. News & World Report, which recognized FHSU as the top university in Kansas for the quality of its online programs.
